Representing civic and urban architectural expertise, Primary Group is teamed with design architect, Rafael Viñoly Architects PC, and convention center specialist, HNTB. Staff from all three firms work collaboratively as a seamless team, in a single project office located adjacent to the project site.

The 1.7 million sf. convention center structure is an aggressive piece of urban architecture, a steel and glass sculpture, sited on several blocks of reclaimed land. In a response to community concerns, the structure has a-“visitor” -façade, facing Boston Harbor, and a community façade, facing South Boston residential neighborhoods. Combining a wide range of meeting, reception and exhibition spaces, public, private and community-based concerns are addressed in a single dynamic structure.
