Primary Group has been the planner,
development consultant and co-developing for 65 acres of a 163-acre
site located at the heart of the City of Boston. As
the largest developable parcel of land in the City
it has special requirements. This site is the jewel at the end of
the Olmstead-designed Emerald Necklace, which begins at the historic
Boston Common and ends here at the juncture of three unique urban
neighborhoods. Located adjacent to Franklin Park, this site is at
the center of several cultural resources - Zoo New England, The
Audubon Society property and Harvard’s Arnold Arboretum –
presenting the opportunity to create an urban mixed-use zone surrounded
by park land and recreational amenities. Development of the site
will include 2 million sf.of retail, institutional space, housing
and open space.
