Corr Hall, Stonehill College

North Easton, Ma

Do to the need for dormitory space this new residence Hall was designed for Stonehill College on a fast track schedule. The entire project (from design through construction) took just under one year to complete and stayed within budget. The requirements for this dormitory were 123 student beds (consisting of single, double, triple and handicapped accessible rooms), office space, a conference/classroom, laundry, kitchen, seating areas and one staff apartment. Various ideas in landscaping were implemented into the design to better integrate the building with the landscape.

The entire building was outfitted with the latest technology that allows a building of this type to function in the 21st century. Being a student dormitory, there were certain issues that needed to be considered in the materials and construction type chosen. CMU bearing walls for strength, durability and noise isolation were implemented in this case.
