Campus Police Department, M I T Cambridge, Ma |
| Primary Group, as part of the design
team for the Boston Police Headquarters, was Massachusetts Institute
of Technology’s (MIT) logical choice to explore options by
MIT's Campus Police Department for efficient space usage to meet
expanding program goals.
Programming and space analysis information was collected through reconnaissance and interviews. We collected, information summarizing each department's functional requirements, size, adjacent functional areas, access and egress requirements, equipment, lighting and special needs. Space totals were compared with two comparable campus police facilities located on the Salem State University and Tufts University campuses. The Primary Group study developed two schematic floor plans based on possible relocation and renovation concepts under consideration by MIT. It was ultimately determined that neither option could accommodate all of the MIT Campus Police Department’s program goals. |
